Most
college libraries contain thousands of books, hundreds of
periodicals, print and electronic periodical indexes, and
an on-line public catalog.
The library has
a number of computers, which are located in the reference
area, and provide access to the CD-ROM databases and various
Internet resources.
In addition to
providing reference services, the librarians often teach
courses each semester that deal with library research methods
and electronic information resources. They also conduct
a variety of workshops on the use of library resources.
(The library and its resources are discussed in other lessons.)
